The People's House, made clear.
A civic access concept that organizes White House news, presidential actions, public schedules and the permanent record around clarity, context and trust.

The opportunity
Turn a constant stream of government information into a public experience people can understand and use.
WhiteHouse.gov carries several responsibilities at once. It is a newsroom, a source of presidential actions, a public schedule, a historical record and a front door to the Executive Office of the President. The design challenge is not simply to make it feel important. It is to help people distinguish what is happening now, what has legal significance, what deserves deeper context and where the original record lives.
The People's House concept treats clarity as the central expression of authority. A composed editorial system pairs timely updates with plain-language paths into briefings, actions, priorities and public participation. Every important moment can be watched, read, downloaded, searched and followed into the source documents behind it.
02 / Presidential Action Explorer
Understand the action. Follow the impact.
A source-first explorer brings executive orders, proclamations, memoranda, nominations and fact sheets into one understandable system, with plain-language context and visible implementation milestones.
- Search by action type, topic, date and status
- Plain-language summary beside the original text
- Related agencies and implementation timeline
- Downloadable sources, glossary and alerts

03 / The Public Room
Watch the moment. Read the record.
A live public record connects briefings, remarks, captions, searchable transcripts, schedules, photos and source documents, giving every visitor more than a video player or a headline.
- Live video with synchronized transcript
- Captions, audio-only and downloadable formats
- Searchable public schedule and document record
- Briefings, remarks and photo stories in context

Civic clarity first
Information is organized by public intent, urgency and document type, helping visitors understand where they are before asking them to read more.
The record stays connected
Video, transcripts, actions, agency implementation and related documents remain visibly linked instead of becoming separate content silos.
Authority without distance
A refined American visual language feels consequential and welcoming while accessibility, captions, plain language and source visibility reinforce public trust.
The design why
The country's most visible public website should make government easier to follow, its records easier to verify and the People's House easier to enter.
Three connected design directions demonstrate the strategy, visual system and user experience opportunity across a complete journey.
