A retrospective digital concept for X Games Aspen 2026, built to make every jump, score, athlete and after-dark moment feel as immediate online as it did at Buttermilk Mountain.
The opportunity
Make the digital experience hit with the same force as the sport.
X Games Aspen 2026 marked the event’s 25th consecutive year at Aspen Snowmass, with three days of snowboard, ski and snowmobile competition, live music and festival experiences. The content is inherently electric. The design should never make it feel ordinary.
This concept treats action as the interface. Full-bleed sport imagery establishes urgency, while a hard-working information layer keeps dates, replays, results, schedules, medals, music and visitor guidance immediately available.
Sport before chrome
The athlete and the mountain own the first frame. Navigation and utility information stay present without taking energy away from the moment.
A living broadcast system
Scores, next-up events and replay access use the visual language of live competition, making the site useful during and after the weekend.
Raw, not reckless
Brutalist type, film grain and signal color create attitude. A strict grid keeps schedules and results fast to scan on any screen.

The schedule and results concept combines the next competition, live leaderboard and full weekend timeline. Fans can follow the event without bouncing between separate schedule, watch and results pages.

The run that changed everything.
The athlete feature turns one decisive run into an interactive editorial story. Motion sequence frames, trick order, speed, amplitude, judge scores and replay angles reveal the craft behind the spectacle.

The design why
Cold mountain.
Hot signal.
The visual system borrows its energy from event graphics, broadcast data and independent action-sports magazines. It feels rough at the edges and exact where fans need information, giving the sport a showcase instead of a template.
